Nashville!

Well, we officially survived our second trip with both boys. Our first trip was to Disneyland but Dawson was yet to crawl or walk so I’m not sure if that even counts 😉

Jim and I usually make a trip out to Music City at least once a year to visit my grandpa who has lived in Nashville my entire life. We realized this was our sixth trip to TN! Having done the touristy spots,  the CMA awards, countless Tennessee Titans games and basically anything else you can think of it always has been a little challenging to find things to do in the winter with kids when we visit – but we learned so much this trip (both on how to travel with young kids, and things to do) thanks to a few instagram followers for the suggestions on activities and places to eat!

When we travel to places a number of times, we always like to stay somewhere new. This time we decided to rent an Air B n B, figuring the more space for the kids, the better. And it was such a good idea. Although we weren’t really in walking distance to a lot of stuff it was nice to have space to stretch, separate rooms for the kids and a kitchen to make meals since eating out is so hard with two small boys. My one regret about our rental – the stairs. Next time I think we will search for a one story house because keeping the boys off the stairs was a task.

Each day we spent the mornings exploring the city – I don’t know what my new obsession is with the mural walls around these cities, but I love them (& so did Parker) Our first day we stopped by the 12 South area for donuts at Five Daughters Bakery, to see Reese Witherspoons store Draper James and grab a coffee from the Frothy Monkey.

Day Two we made a quick pit stop downtown to see what had changed in the last few years since we’ve seen the city. So many new restaurants and buildings all of which were closed because it was 9 AM on a Wednesday! 😉

The boys loved to run around the Country Music Hall of Fame though, so it wasn’t a total bust. We spent some time at the local farmers market – which was covered in magnolia wreathes and a small Christmas tree lot hashtag: all the heart eyes – if only I could pack everything into my suitcase!

After stalking out some of my favorite Nashville moms, we had to stop for a burger at The Pharmacy, it was great for the boys to walk around their outside patio – and we even spotted Rachel from the Bachelorette eating lunch too!

After 4 days out of town, we have learned so much about traveling and what to expect when going out with two kids. It was so fun to see family, get out of town for a little bit and explore somewhere new!
